A Note from the Chair:
Here we are at the start of a brand new year. I love the beginning of the school year. The books are new and interesting, and the kids are willing to jump right in, without too much cajoling. And so are we as parents. The parent meeting this month was full of new faces. I’m sure co-op classes will be too. We are all excited and ready for a break from summer sports and hot days. Every field trip sounds like a good idea, and we are quickly over-committed. Be sure to guard your days. Enjoy snuggles on the porch while reading the latest book club title with your kids. Enjoy fresh new notebooks and take some time to doodle. Daydream over art classes and fun projects at co-op. Get involved in the things that are meaningful to your school year, instead of trying to “do it all.” Remember that we at VHSA are here to be a Support Group. Not a “Fill your Planner” group. We are here to pray with you, mourn with you, explore with you, and rejoice with you. Remember that parent meetings are just places to sign up, but places to meet friends. So, be welcome, fill your cup, stay a while. This is going to be a great year. -Laura
