Our Fall so Far… (Pt. 1)
This fall has been a busy one for VHSA! We have had various field trips, and parent meetings have been well attended, as well as co-op is half way through the fall semester. Here’s the highlights:
Our Kickoff party was a dessert potluck on August 15th. We swamped the park with about 25 families in attendance, and held a parent meeting in a record 60 minutes. Once the memberships were all in, our group ended up with about 52 families for this school year. Plans were made for lots of fun field trips, and co-op registration also opened on that day. Our group has all kinds of general events and trips, and then special co-op days by registration. This semester classes include: Geography, Movie Makers, Game Show, Bible Study, Calligraphy, PE, Art, Choir… 44 classes total were offered, as well as 15 private lesson slots.
Our very next event, coordinated by Raeanne, was a trip to the raspberry patch at Wind Harvest Farms. Not only were we treated to a tour, but a really great deal on loads of raspberries!
A week later our kids attended the Flowerfield school, as shown in the previous blog post:
September was full of fun including trips like: Wildcat Hills Nature Center, Book Club for August: “Dracula” by Bram Stoker, Homeschool Mom Personal Planning Day, D-Wayne BeatBox, Agate Fossil Beds, and a Parent Meeting. It was also the beginning of the homeschool co-op:
We have had lots of fun events at the co-op, including in-house field trips and a visit from the Snowie Bus!
October events are already piling up, and we can’t wait to tell you about them… but as this is already long, we’ll call it “Fall Part 1.”
