Summer is here, but the School-year Memories Live On

… in other words: Not everything we did this school year, made it to the blog! Over the summer I hope to fill you all in on the wonderful events and field trips we had this year. 🙂

The following gallery is from our trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. This was one of our larger trips of the year, with 60 participating individuals. It wasn’t our largest, as we did have 80 seats filled for the Scottsbluff High School production of Mary Poppins.

We had a great day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, but we did learn a few things:

  • School groups often tour from 10am to noon, so we think next time we will schedule our special event tickets (planetarium and imax) for those times, and then tour the museum when it is quieter.
  • Packed lunches were well cared for in our own little group caddy, and it was a fantastic set up. But, if you have special event tickets the will keep you in the imax until after the museum closes, remember to go back from your lunch bag before the show. After hours the imax  dismisses you right to the parking lot. We were so thankful for the museum employee who walked up back in to get them.
  • Planetarium tickets seemed to be cheaper at the door than they were with our group admission.

You can surely spend a whole day there and not see it all, meaning we will have to do this one every year I hope. 🙂
