Bicycle Blow-Out

Saturday’s Bike-a-Thon for Gospel for Asia was a huge success. The kids all turned out ready to ride, and never wanted to quit!prayer 2

The littlest kids rode 1/8 mile laps, starting out first. The parents and supporters lined the road and cheered them on. When they finished up, the under 9 age group had ridden a combined total of 576 laps, approximately 72 miles!

The older kids started next, and their laps were 1/4 mile. They rode with flair and antics like showing off their hands-free skills and other tricks. Even with all the fun, they covered a lot of ground: a combined total of 355 laps, approximately 89 miles!

Many of the kids had donors pledging a certain amount per mile or per lap. The donors set upper limits that challenged the kids to do enough laps to max out their donation. We were amazed at their stamina, and how they made the most of every gift! The goal had been to raise $550 for 5 missionary bicycles… and the final result?

$2,500! Enough for 23 bicycles!

Organizer, Bethany Adams, shared with the press: “With a bicycle, a missionary can visit three to four times as many villages in a day. A heavy-duty Indian-made bicycle is a wonderful blessing and only costs $110 each.”

Tax deductible donations can still be made by visiting this website: mygfa.org/VHSAbikes; or contacting Bethany Adams at 308-631-1933.

Jax generously donated snow cone coupons to the participants and Potter’s Wheel Ministries generously donated a bike and multiple helmets.

To all who gave, Thank you!  May God be glorified! He is able to above and beyond all we can ask or think!

Eph 3:14-21
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
