International Homeschool Spirit Week Part 3

Each year members of VHSA participate in International Homeschool Spirit Week. The party online includes freebies for homeschoolers, as well as a facebook page for sharing our home-school spirit!

The final day of Spirit Week was Giving or Pay it Forward Day. On this day we asked members to consider giving back to the group by volunteering to be our group librarian for a week. Three families have signed up thus far! One of the things I often brag to others about our homeschool group… is our wonderful library.  We have a large room of bookshelves, housed in the basement of KCMI radio, filled with curriculum and resources for homeschooling. Many families are able to acquire the books for their entire school year at no cost, thanks to the lending library! It does take a little bit of time to re-shelve returned books, tidy up, and shelve any new donations. Each family in our group is asked to pick a week to drop by and spend an hour straightening things out. They usually end of finding all kids of things they need to borrow too!
