In April we had 11 items on the calendar, including: Book Club reading Anne of Green Gables, a trip to the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Science Fair, Fermenting Class, In House Field Trips, Hands on History at the Legacy of the Plains, and our first Mini Homeschoool Conference at the Harms Center.
May started off with our 8th grade graduation, a trip to the Cheyenne Botanic Garden and the Old West Museum, and a Geology Field Trip at the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
Over the summer, even though we were on break, we had 8 events in June, July and August. Our Kickoff Party was well attended and we jumped right back up to nearly 70 member families. Our group is made up of over 300 individuals, over 170 students.
In September we had 8 events, including: kicking off our co-op class registration with nearly 60 classes, in which 149 students enrolled. The Book Club read the Wolves of Willoughby Chase, and our 4-5th graders attended Tools Through Time at Legacy of the Plains.
October was a beautiful month with over 9 great events. We kicked off Tennis Lessons for the fall, as well as Basketball nights. We attended the Rhys Thomas Science Circus at the Midwest, Flowerfield School, National Weather Service in Cheyenne, as well as a field trip to the West Nebraska Regional Airport. Our book club read the Phantom Tollbooth.
November we had 11 events, including the High School Business and Industry Tour, Zooquest for our 2nd graders, Mentor Mom potluck, and basketball and tennis. At the Midwest Theater we attend Ranky Tanky, and many of our kids were in the Missoula show, Peter and Wendy.
December is here, and we already have 14 events on the slate. From Christmas parties to sports nights, we keep things interesting. My favorite part of this group is the diverse group of parents opening us up to so many amazing opportunities! As a parent led group, these things wouldn’t happen without you all bringing them to parent meeting and making them happen.
Why is it important to look back? So we can give thanks to God for all He has done!
1 Chronicles 16:8-11
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!”
Merry Christmas to you and Yours, and we look forward to another wonderful year together!
