We are excited to announce the VHSA 2021 Homeschool Retreat on Saturday, August 21st from 10am to 4pm! This will be a time of back-to-school encouragement for your homeschool journey. Along with a time to seek the Father to help motivate and encourage our children, give us tools to avoid burnout, and help us find joy in the journey!
We are so very excited to have Jennifer Cabrera of Hifalutin Homeschooler (https://hifalutinhomeschooler.com/) with us as our Keynote Speaker to share some wisdom and encouragement and some well needed laughs and refreshment. Check out her podcast, books, homeschooling memes, and blog posts to see all what you will enjoy as she shares at our retreat. We’ll have a time of Q&A after with her as well, so bring your questions! Jennifer will join us on a live zoom call as she’s deep in the heart of Texas, ya’ll!
Meet Jennifer: The Hifalutin Homeschooler, writer, author, and speaker of homeschool truth and humor. Her writings, social media insights, and memes poke fun of life as a homeschooler (and those who know nothing of it). She hopes to bring laughter and inspiration to get through the hard days.
We will get to enjoy hearing the heart of Diane Heeney live and in person during one of our sessions as well. Diane Heeney lives in wild, wonderful Wyoming with her husband and youngest daughter, Katie. She works as Advertising & Sales Team Facilitator for The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, and has also written for various of their publications. Diane has a love for ministering to ladies, and has done so via her “Quiet Rest” podcast and blogs, as well as speaking for ladies retreats and Bible studies. She will challenge us with our own hearts as we teach our children’s. Her short, 20-minute podcasts are refreshment for the soul. The breakout sessions will include local friends and speakers as well as some more familiar faces from our own VHSA family. Lunch, snacks, and coffee are provided! Our goal is for you to refresh yourself before giving of yourself this next school year. Watch for the full schedule to be posted soon!
From newbies to veteran homeschoolers, this is your place, your community.
The cost is $20 per individual through August 14th. After August 14th, the cost will increase to $25. At-the-door registrations are available for $25 as well, but could be limited on food and registration packets, depending on availability. So it’s best just to register now!
